Anna Tsang known also as Anna T spent her early childhood in Hong Kong where her mother designed a children's clothes line for her family run garment business. Her family later moved to the United States where Anna attended and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with a Fashion Design Degree. Anna arrived in Singapore in 1987, and in 1989 started volunteering at a crisis shelter with Singapore Anglican Community Services, setting up a thrift shop "Something old, something new" to help women in need.
Then in 2005, Anna decided to marry both her passions- working with disadvantaged woman and fashion design Mother and Child Project was born. She started to train woman to sew and to make a range of products she designed. Many of these ladies were single mothers or women recovering from psychiatric illness and their newly acquired skill became their source of income. Mother and Child Project was born.
Anna's original creations are constructed from unlikely fabrics and, are skillfully transformed into wearable works of art. Each piece of clothing is unique and is not repeated.
